Overview of application

The system supplied performs corrosion tests on different Hastelloy materials. In order to do this 5 different sequences have been implemented in software to run the tests on the materials, these are automatic and under PC control, but manual sequences are also undertaken.

Altogether the software handles 12 PID controller loops and 8 sequences facilitated by the multitasking nature of the DM2-386 package.

All the valves in the process are controlled using two digital inputs which give the status at any one time in order to achieve the necessary level of safety.

Temperature sensors and 4-20 mA sensors such as Flow meters, PH meters and level meters are mixed and matched on the same Datascan input modules, reducing the space needed for the hardware, the wiring and therefore the overall cost.

Datascan was used instead of Programmable Logic Controllers for its 16 bit resolution on Analog Inputs, and the ease of configuration.
